In order to give their customers a high level of quality, glass manufacturers must carry out numerous tests on items they produce.

SILQual makes this tedious job simple.
In a user-friendly way, the glass manufacturer can create his own Quality database, record and restore test results and communicate with manufacturing lines.

Discover 10 functionalities and improvements of the new 2012 SILQual version.

SIL launch: to stop using ‘.bat’ files and ‘xcopy’

SIL Launch allows launching SILQual application from a workstation. On port #80, SIL Launch offers the possibility to:

  • Download the latest SILQual version available on the server (without using or displaying the bat file)
  • Download the file of configuration for the workstation from the data base

Automatic import of Production Number from a csv file
In SILQual Manager, a new functionality offers to import data associated to an article and a production from a csv file.

Improvement of the pallet audit in the Controller
The controls on the pallets are now restored per pallet in the SILQual Controller application.

Web services with database
- Access to all tables in the data base with simple web services (reading creation update delete list – on option)
- Specialized web service available:
-> Get the number of set outs on a period
-> Get the list of set outs on a period
-> Get the detail of a set out

Multi-lines set-outs
So far, to perform a set out as HECM, the operator had to choose the line, the type of set out, enter the date, and make the controls. It’s the same thing for the following line.
From now on, the operator enters the set out and the date once, then starts the controls. The system passes automatically from one line to the following line.
Moreover, a report for multi lines is available to display the results of the control on one single sheet.

This functionality is currently available for HECM and FCM controls.




The history of mounted molds is displayed by mounting duration rather than by mold number

SILQual 2011

In its new version, SILQual includes advanced management of Customer Complaints:
The Quality Manager can put a status on a Customer complaint, manage the corrective actions defined for problem resolution, follow their evolution, check the progress of the preventive action plans, and generate reports and statistics.

A dashboard (values and graphical representation) shows all the complaints month per month (with the cost of the complaint, the articles concerned, the complaints classified per criticity)
The Quality Manager can edit a "complaint file", which includes every element of the Customer complaint.

SIL LAB
SIL Lab was created by Vertech' for glassmakers in 2004. Many evolutions have been added to this application recently, such as the analysis of raw materials. Thanks to this application, the use of paper in the laboratories has been considerably reduced, added to the following benefits for our Clients: - securisation of data - total traceability of chemical analyses, thanks to recording in database - immediate information inside the group, thanks to data centralization To trace composition and raw materials, SIL Lab is the solution to manage your chemical analyses. This application is used by central chemical laboratory of glassmakers, as well as by the glass laboratory of every plant.

SPC restitution for Controllers
SILQual already proposed SPC restitution for the Quality Manager. 2009 version allows SPC restitution SPC for Controllers too, for measurements and set outs.

The operator opens the production he sampled. He records mould numbers and the date of sampling.
Then, he follows instructions for proceeding to controls.

Data entry screens

Values out of tolerances

When a value is out of tolerances, the operator can edit different copies of the list of moulds and defects controlled.

Deletion of production informations stored in the database

Manufacturers must contractually keep the measurements of a production for several years, depending on the article and on the client. As time goes by, data accumulate and overload the database leading to updates slowdown.

SILQual uses the notion of the article lifespam to determine if a production for this article may be deleted. Deleting a production means remove data stored (totally or partially) during production, quality controls (SILQual) and possibly during pallet audit. However, the production sheet is still available, in particular to consult the production report.
Centralized Database New SILQual functionality

SIL database can now be shared between several plants. Thus, the Control range of each article is exactly the same for the different plants.
Each article is assigned to a Managing Plant which is the only one to be responsible for modifying its parameters. However, thanks to data reorganization, each plant can adapt its working weight for each production line

Production orders

Declare production orders for each item being manufactured. These will enable operators to start or stop controls.

Ranges

You define a control range for each item. This will provide operators with all the necessary information to carry out strict controls: frequency, control means, acceptable limits...



Biometric Recognition


The Biometric Recognition (by fingerprints) is now available under SILQual :
It will be used for the biometric authentification of quality documents sent to clients.
It enables to positively identify operators who realize quality controls or samplings.

This function was developped to answer the requirements of the Drug & Food Administration (USA).


SILQual : gaging restitution

Thanks to SILQual, you can easily store gaging measurements made by API, AMD or Profiler from MSC.

Vertech' has developed communication with these machines for storage and restitution of gaging at different heights of the bottle.

SILQual collects measurements and store them in the database as other measurements made in the laboratory (weight, capacity …).
